I'M BACK--AGAIN!

All of this traveling makes me realize that the conscious choice I made in my 20s NOT to be a touring rock star was surely the right one.  LOL!!  Seriously, though . . . I am glad to be home and back to work.  My inbox is precariously full and my to-do lists a mile long, but I am digging my way out this week. :)

Here are just a few shots from my weekend in Florida (not in NC like some of you super sleuths out there thought, ha ha!).  Aren't these the sweetest little ones you ever saw?  They are all around 11 months and the last two have fabulously talented photographer mamas--any guesses?

Back to digging for me! :)

THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG

Where was I this weekend?  Why, at The Secret Workshop in Boston, of course!  A few intrepid photographers picked up on the hint in my poor neglected Twitter--you guys are GOOD!!! :)

It was such a treat being the guest speaker this weekend.  I only wish that I'd had time to talk to more of the wonderful up-and-coming photographers there. The lovely, talented, charismatic Cheryl Muhr did not disappoint, as always. :)

One special bonus this weekend for me was that I got to meet, at long last, an online friend who is very dear to me.  She was able to bring her adorable children for the model shoot--yay!  Here are a few shots of them and a couple more from the weekend.  I wish I had a few more, but I confess I spent most of the time chatting (um, I mean teaching!) instead of shooting. :)

Finally--if you can believe it--I will be out of town again tomorrow through Sunday.  E-mails and phone calls will be returned beginning Monday, September 22nd. I will be meeting with some fabulous photographers for a retreat of sorts and I think it is imperative that I unplug as much as possible for a change.  Note: me unplugging usually entails checking e-mails on my iPhone and subsequently freaking out that I can't respond right away.  I think I need to take up yoga, hire an assistant . . . maybe both?  What do you think? :)

Everywhere you look . . . paparazzi! :)

A stunning little girl I wish I could have photographed more.  As usual, I am drawn to the feet and fabulous tights.  LOL!

And quite a few of J. and K.--it was wonderful meeting you at last, L.!!!

Aw . . . can't you just feel the love?  Sort of. ha ha!

Love these shoes--and the twirl!

Have a great week, all!

TWO YEAR OLD BOYS²

I'll bet if you ask any photographer, they might cite two year olds as one of the most challenging ages to photograph.  Two year olds are spontaneous, mercurial, and--above all--they are busy.  They have places to go, people to see, and you just might not be on their agenda for the day.  But I--crazy person that I am--love two year olds.  I won't lie: there is a certain charm in the "I can sit up but not run from you" 7 month old, but where's the challenge in that?  The best shots can sometimes be the hardest won.  With that preamble, you know that sneak peeks of some adorable two year olds will follow.  Without further ado, I present D. and M.  I had a blast photographing them and chatting with mom and dad.  Thank you, K. family!  More to come soon. Oh, and these are best viewed with captions, of course!

Hello Camera Lady.  No, you may not come into my tent.

You want to read a story with me?  I think not. Your work here is done. Buh-bye. (psst . . . this is actually one of my favorite photos from the shoot.)

But wait . . . what's that you say?  We can jump on the bed?

And whoa . . . bubbles??? Maybe you are not so bad after all. :)

Actually, little M. and D. did invite me into their tent, but it's a much better story this way, don't you think?

A quick announcement:  JSP will be closed from tomorrow until Monday as well as Sept 18-21.  Exciting things coming over the next few weeks!
