SWEET MISS I.

I am alive!  In a new location and surrounded by boxes, but alive! : )  We moved to our new home less than two weeks ago and it has been nonstop actiivty--activity that did not include blogging. Oops!  I wish I could say that I have been busy unpacking every last bit of our new home and decorating it to perfection (ha!), but the truth is that I unpacked the bare essentials and got right back to work.  Sessions to shoot, orders to place, and (eep) packaging still to find. I know that I will reach seemingly mythical All-Caught-Up Land one of these days, though!

I was delighted to take a break from unpacking to meet sweet Miss I. and her lovely parents last week.  She was such a delight and made my job a breeze.  Thank you, D. family!!  Here's a little sneak peek of your session with many more (including *great* family images!) to come.

I felt right at home with all this pink . . . and she had the same bedding as my daughter as well.  I need the hanging birds, though. Love!

I love the positioning of her hand here and her sweet tippy-toed stance. A ballerina in the making.

Finally, one of my favorite baby expressions--the full-face smile.  Awww!  Thanks again, D. family!

SOMETHING BLUE.

Yes, we are moving tomorrow and no, I did not set this blog post up to publish automatically at a later date. :) I'm sitting in my dining room surrounded by boxes and chaos, but for once *I* was not the one to pack these boxes and--trust me--that's a beautiful, beautiful thing.  It means that I feel chipper enough to blog right before the real work of unpacking everything begins (that part I will be doing, ack!).

I couldn't sign off for a few days without first sharing a sneak peek for the C. family; they are simply wonderful people and soon to be my (almost) neighbors! It has been a privilege to watch L. and B. grow and now to document the addition of their third little boy. Meet the freshest little piggies on the block and two older brothers who are tickled pink (see, there's some pink here! :)) to have a new little guy in the family.

We tried in vain to keep H. asleep for some images (and we got a few!) but he clearly had way too much to see and do. I can't believe how much their little personalities can shine through at this age, but just look at this little face.  H. also wins the superbaby of the year award in the category of neck control.  See for yourself . . .

Thanks once again, C. family.  A pleasure as always!

THREE.

Three adorable siblings, that is! I had such a lovely time meeting the H. family and having fun with L., C., and little sister E. There was tulle, there was a water gun duel, there was . . . breakdancing . . . and those are the photos you don't see here!  Needless to say a fun time was had by all.

Here's a quick sneak peek for mom and dad--thank you!

A quick business note . . . Joyce Smith Photography will be closed from tomorrow through Monday as our family moves to our new home.  Thank you for your patience as we move, unearth, and get to business again! I have tried in vain to find a good "stopping point" for my work and I've concluded that this mythical moment does not exist, or rather that it will be forced upon me when the packers take my computer away tomorrow! :) (Ooh . . . and a note to all of my blog visitors--thank you so much for stopping by! I look forward to catching up with all of the amazing work you are undoubtedly doing once the dust settles!)

Have a wonderful week and weekend, all!

Just look at these beautiful, joyful children . . . aww! Thanks once again, H. family!

RECENT FAVORITES

I know I have been MIA from the blog. Between our move next week and my shooting schedule before and after the move (note to self: hide camera bag from the packers!) it has been hectic to say the least. I had a slightly longer, infinitely more eloquent (yes . . . we'll go with that!) post here that my blog just gobbled up.  Ack!  So in the interest of actually getting dinner on the table this evening, I'll just skip to the photos. :)

As we prepare for the move and the inevitable topsy-turvyness ;) of it all, I've been placing orders and uploading galleries like crazy!  Here are just a few of my favorites--the ones that inspired me and made me smile in the wee hours.  Thank you to each and every one! I love my job. :)

MR. G. IS NOW OFFICIALLY ON THE MOVE

Even though I am a night owl and decidedly not a morning person, I was all too happy to meet Mr. G. and his family last Saturday at 7am.  Lovely light! Chipper kiddos (who haven't had a chance to miss any naps!)! No traffic! :) G.'s mom, dad, and aunt could not have been more smitten with him and it is easy to see why.  How lucky am I that this busy bee decided to slow down for just a few moments for me?  Here's a little sneak peek for H. and S. It was lovely meeting you (and psssst . . . you will find a credit for one 5x7 in your cart at order time to cover that pesky parking ticket! ssshhhh!). :)

Peekaboo!

The last one is my favorite. The spiky hair . . . the thrill of being on the move . . . one little hand in mid-air . . . the sidelong glance. Love him!  Until next time!
