Reserve your session time by January 29th (to take place now through May 31st) and enjoy a special savings. Pre-pay your portrait collection and enjoy an even greater savings.

What do all of the above images have in common? They were each captured during sessions that took place in the first five months of 2013--including one of my favorite outdoor family images of the year, captured in February!

From the incomparable light of winter (it does exist--just not in Philadelphia today!) to the early days of spring--it's a great time for a session.  Sessions that take place at your home are especially lovely in the winter; I'm able to capture your children where they're most comfortable and in the most personal of environments. And yes, we're even able to make 5-10 minute jaunts right outside even in chillier weather and then duck back in for more gorgeous indoor images. As the winter turns to spring, we're able to incorporate the outdoors even more (but I loooooove interiors . . . you may have noticed!). The studio offers similarly beautiful light.

Yes, by popular demand I'm bringing back last year's special winter + spring session event (and true, this is my none-too-subtle ploy to steal a few clients away from the summer and fall and share some love with the other seasons!).

How does it work? Reserve your session spot between NOW and Wednesday, January 29th at 5pm for a winter or spring signature session (at your home or the studio) and part of your session fee will magically transform into a print credit.  This means you can apply it to anything you wish to order from your session, just like cash--super easy. Your session may then take place anytime between now and May 31, 2014.

More specifics follow:

Book a signature session for Feburary to receive $250 of your $350 session fee as a print credit, applicable to anything you may wish to order from your session.

Book a signature session for March, April, or May to receive $150 of your $350 session fee as a print credit, applicable to anything you may wish to order from your session.

A very limited number of weekend and weekday spots are available for this promotion. If you'd like to claim yours, reserve here and/or send me an e-mail and we'll find a date that works for you right away. This special link and offer will go POOF January 29th.

This offer is available to new and past JSP clients.

Would you prefer a simplicity session on select weekdays at the studio? Let me know and I can fill you in on all upcoming available dates.

Thank you!!  Looking forward to working with your family this winter and spring!

xoxo

The Fine Print

All sessions for this event must take place prior to May 31st, 2013.

Your $350 session fee includes Joyce's time and talent for one to two hours; a custom-styled shoot at your home or alternate outdoor location; artistic processing of each image; 25-30 portraits presented in a private online slideshow for one week; and a custom online ordering gallery or complimentary portrait design appointment. A nominal additional travel fee applies for shoots more than 30 miles (roundtrip) away from the Main Line area.

The session fee does not include your images, either digital or printed; these are purchased separately.

Clients pay the session fee to commission Joyce for their portraits, and may then choose their portraits from the the a la carte prices (no minimum purchase) or select from our popular collections which begin at $950.

Limit 1 per person. Valid only for a signature session (at your home or the Wayne studio), not simplicity mini sessions.  Print credit must be used in one visit.

I am so excited and honored to be a Celebrity Photographer on Chic Critique!

Chic Critique is THE elite resource for women who love photography. Their Celebrity Photographers (that's me!) encourage, inspire, teach, and critique members.

During the month of February, I'll be doing Image Critiques for photographers via video! What better way to improve your images?

A "4-week Critique" is a private class where Chic members simply post images once a week for 4 weeks and get VIDEO critiques from a Celebrity Photographer

  • All critiques are given in VIDEO format so that you can listen and watch what the Celebrity is referring to
  • Lessons & assignments are not given, simply critique
  • Each 4-week critique starts the first Monday of every month
  • Each active student posts 3 images once a week anytime between Monday-Wednesday
  • The Celebrity Photographer responds to each active student's image post anytime between Thursday-Saturday
  • Each Critique class will consist of only 10 active students
  • A private classroom on the forum will be setup for each 4-week Critique
My Photo Critique begins February
4th- March 3 2013

Only 9 spots left!

CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS. I hope to see you there!

If you happened to be watching 6 ABC news last night or this morning, you may have caught Joyce Smith Photography on the air!  I was thrilled to photograph this beautiful expectant mother that many of you surely know.

If you'd like to view the piece, visit 6 ABC's parenting section.  Many thanks to all involved--what a treat!

Wishing S. all the best in the very exciting days ahead!

While in Las Vegas last week learning at WPPI, I saw many, MANY sparkly things. These shoes were among the prettiest.

A few quick housekeeping notes . . . the next {extra}ordinary worskhop is just around the corner, March 12-13.  I've just had one space become available--let me know right away if you'd like it!  Attendees will be hearing from me tomorrow with more details about the trip!

Also, the studio will be closed from March 26-April 6th for family vacation. I've promised no e-mails, no calls, nada . . . so try to catch me before March 26th so I and my iPad can stay out of trouble. : )

Loads of sessions will be coming to the blog soon.  2011 has been the busiest JSP winter on record and spring sessions are now booking in May.  If you have your heart set on cherry blossoms this year, now is the time.

Best wishes to all of my readers and thank you for visiting the blog!

Hello out there!

I returned from vacation today and am slowly but surely answering e-mails--thank you for your patience!

I hope that everyone had a beautiful holiday season.  I know that I took some much needed time off, although a good portion of my vacation was, ahem, making plans for my Contax and dreaming up photo ideas. :)  I also took a look through the 2010 session archives and created a retrospective slideshow.  It's both gratifying and poignant to look through last year's sessions--the newest little ones, the ones who have just become a big brother or sister, the ones that you just can't believe have grown so quickly.

Thank you once again to all of my clients for allowing me to document just a small portion of your family's history.  It is, as always, an honor!

To view the slideshow, simply click HERE.  Happy 2011!!!!
